Surprisingly, Pinterest now has Stories on its home screen, too
Pinterest now also joins the clubs of social media platforms that have a carousel of stories on the home screen.
Pinterest now has Stories on its home screen, too
Pinterest now displays a carousel of stories right at the top of its home screen. Users can easily notice that change when opening up the app. It is an interface that should be familiar to any user who has used social media apps like Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, and many others in the past few years. The change started appearing on iOS and Android last week.
Story Pins are not completely brand-new
Pinterest calls it “Story Pins,” which is supposed to help the creators better interact with their audience.
The Story Pins, like pretty much lots of other story formats, will live at the top of the home screen of Pinterest and also allow creators to share images, short clips, or text, helping followers to feel closer to their favorite creators.

The most significant difference to other social media platforms is that Story Pins are not ephemeral by default. They will live on in the profiles of the creators, so you don't need to worry about these stories disappearing so quickly.
Story Pins themselves are not completely brand-new. They have been around in parts of the Pinterest app since last September. But by giving Story Pins a dedicated place on the home screen, Pinterest makes them more discoverable.
However, not everyone can create Story Pins. And that is considered a big limitation around this feature, according to The Verge. Now, Story Pins remain limited to approved creators and businesses.
