Google Makes a Minor Adjustment to the YouTube App for Android
Some of the adjustments made to YouTube seem to have been made without any apparent rationale at all, in contrast to changes made to Google Maps which are really helpful.
The web version of the video stream recently changed the corners of the thumbnails and the video player from square to round.
And the response from YouTube users was not exactly positive.
Now it seems that YouTube is also changing the videos on its Android app.
The YouTube app for Android receives a minor update from Google
The rounded corners of YouTube thumbnails may be seen, according to a screenshot acquired by Android Police.
As a result, there is more distracting white light in the backdrop, which may prompt some users to switch to the Dark theme.
Open the YouTube app on your Android device
Tap the profile picture in the top right corner
Next, select Settings > General > Appearance
You will be given the option to select the device theme, the Light or Dark theme in a popup box. Make a decision.
Once you watch a video on the YouTube website in full screen or in Theater mode, the rounded corners do not show up. But they do come back when you switch to the default view.
If the YouTube app isn't already installed on your Android device, you can get it right now from the Google Play Store.
