Apple’s iPhone 17 Air Might Be Up to 35% Thinner Than the iPhone 16
According to a recent source, Apple's current iPhone 17 Air prototypes are up to 35% thinner than the iPhone 16.
Although this would make the first iPhone 'Air' as thin as the iPad Pro 13, it would entail significant hardware compromises.

While the iPhone 16 is already rather thin at 7.8 mm, current iPhone 17 Air prototypes are reported to be up to 35% thinner, at 5-6 mm thick.
As a result, the iPhone 17 Air would be the thinnest iPhone ever launched; the iPhone 6 Plus, with its 7.1 mm case, has held that title since 2014.
With that in mind, the iPhone 17 Air may be roughly as thin as the current iPad Pro 13, which is 5.1 mm.
Unsurprisingly, Apple is believed to have developed a variety of hardware, including the transition to a single rear-facing camera.
Furthermore, the iPhone 17 Air will lack mmWave 5G network support as well as a physical SIM card slot; nevertheless, the latter has been available on all iPhones sold in the United States from the iPhone 14 series.
