Google Employee Confirms Pixel 8a: View Details on the Next Pixel Device

At the I/O 2024 event, which is expected to take place in May, Google will announce the Pixel 8a, its upcoming smartphone. 

Pixel 7a will give way to this new model and we already know a little more about what to anticipate from the phone thanks to recent leaks. 

Google employee accidentally confirms Pixel 8a

Interestingly, Google has hinted at the existence of the Pixel 8a. 

This incident took place in a public forum where people talk about issues they're having with Pixel smartphones. 

Unintentionally, a Google official said that the Pixel 8a will bring back a capability that Android had previously removed. 

The Google official comforted customers by adding, "We only enable this page on Pixel 8a and beyond, so this is working as intended," in response to their complaints over the removal of a battery functionality.

This is the first time the company has recognized the phone officially. 

The Battery Information screen, which was removed in the most recent Android 14 QPR2 update, is returning in the Pixel 8a and subsequent variants.
