According to sources, Apple is expected to introduce the next iPhone SE in 2025.

When it launches, it will include an OLED screen, a feature not seen in the entry-level segment before. LCD displays were standard on all previous SE versions.

The 6.1-inch screen of the 2025 iPhone SE is anticipated to have a resolution of 1,170 x 2,532 pixels, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and potentially a Ceramic Shield glass on top, but this has not yet been verified.

The screens of the next SE model are anticipated to be comparable to those seen in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

Three display manufacturers are reportedly vying for Apple's orders for the next SE, according to a recent report.

Samsung is purportedly providing the lowest pricing per panel, followed by BOE and Tianma.

As of right now, none have taken home the contract since Apple is matching bids with a lower price, so negotiations are still going on.

Tianma is unlikely to be a strong competitor for these panels, as it has been stated that BOE and Samsung have both obtained high yields.

The fact that Samsung was producing the iPhone 14 panels gave it an edge. Since it can earn more from the panels for the iPhone 15 and 16 series, it can also afford to go low in order to snub BOE.

Meanwhile, BOE is facing a dilemma as it needs more orders, having missed the chance to boost its OLED panel production capacity the previous year.
